We all play for a reason, what's yours?

I sometimes ask myself the real purpose of life... then I ask many questions like the reason of why I work every day, why walk, why talk,why sleep, why eat, then I find amusing the sound of the wind and the view of the city, and after many hours of finding answers, I find peace in my zen garden: my xbox.
How many people feel that their only way to escape our "real life" problems is turning on a machine that transports us to a world where we can choose whatever comes into our mind,a place where we do not know bounderies, a country where the only border between people is a button that turns green of happiness, a mission where the only problems we have is "getting through fire and flames on expert" or "completing Mile High Club on Veteran" a world where the number of lives doesn't end in one, a life that we can relive just by choosing "new game", a fight where your friend is millions of miles away from you and yet near you, a war that doesn't have funerals back at home.

to escape the harsh reality that is my life.
if it wasnt for killing in COD4, i probably would have stabbed someone by now, and i mean that literally, i have about 2 dozen knives in my house, we had 3 guns.
To be able to get out some anger that otherwise would be unleashed on some unlucky person.
and finnaly because i get bored at home and when i get bored at home by myself, i dont exactly do things that are safe whether they are safe to me or anyone around me :]

It's definitly to escape reality, make friends, have a good time, and keep me busy. I wonder why some people aren't gamers a lot. What are they doing in their free time? When I just have 30 minutes of down time I fire the 360 up.

I joke to my wife that I play to try and keep my sanity. For me, I find it to be a great stress reliever and of course for the fun entertainment.

Fun and it's really great when you just want to zone out for a little bit without having to worry about anything.

We all play for the fun
I play for the stress that it relieves from school and the drama that goes down in reality
Its also a great way to meet people from all over the world

Just overall a stress reliever from school and work

and just to have fun, and talk to some friends and have a blast owning noobs!

Though drugs seem cheaper at times. I play for fun, to relax and to ease boredom. There is nothing like treating yourself to a couple hours with ur favorite game.

I play to forget the presures of the real world, if we made money for all the hours we have spent gaming it would spoil the game.
