This isn't the first time that the military has used video games in general and Halo 3 specifically for recruiting. I read a story where they sponsored a Halo 3 tournament for recruiting purposes at a video game store. They even let the kids who couldn't play M-rated games go to a parking lot outside the store and play the game on a specially equipped Hummer. They got in a little trouble for that last part.
