I'd love to know if there is any free software that I can use to transfer my DVDs to my iPod. I've looked... but so far I've been SOL.

I don't know about "free" software, but what I do is I play the movie on my xbox and using a capture card, I record the movie then make into an "iPod Compatible File" and add it to my iPod. Or you can just buy the movie on iTunes, that would probably have better quality.

Well I own close to 300 DVDs, and I absolutely refuse to spend another $20 for a movie I already own. It's absolute BS that you need to find workarounds to get videos to play on a VIDEO iPod.

Well, she's not around right now, but this is what I got from the gist of it, having never used the Zune software myself mind you:
After you convert the video make sure it is saved in a folder monitored by your Zune program. If it is, then when you open the program it will automatically be imported into the program.
From what I have read, the Zune only handles WMV, MP4, and H.264 video formats. Through the magic of Youtube, I also found a video showing exactly how to convert a video to the format you need using Windows Movie Maker, which all of you should already have on your computer. I thought WMM was a dumb ass program If you're like me, however, then everything is free when it comes to computers, lol. If you need help transfering actual DVDs to the Zune let me know; that's not too hard either.
