Toshiba has given up on the war between HD DVD and Blu-Ray. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL1643184420080216
How long will it be until microsoft stops production of the 360 Hd-DVD drive and will they switch to blu-ray?

Well, this was pretty much inevitable once Warner Brothers dropped their bomb. It set off a chain of events that no one could've stopped.

At least, now, there's one format for people to choose from, although we'll see how long Blu-Ray actually lasts. DLC is still one of the fastest rising formats out there, and could ultimately beat out Blu-Ray once it becomes a standard.

Right. Think about what Windows Media Center can do with your system right now and couple that with the fact that movies are available for download through XBL.

DLC is something that is becoming far easier to handle than anything else. Granted, it's not nearly as available as Blu-Ray is right now, but DLC continues to grow. When higher storage capacities become readily available, as well as the growth of SSD Storage Drives (Think Airbook Macs), and you have a formula that will change the way we watch, rent, and own movies altogether.

I would rather use DLC then have to buy some new piece of techno that might be outdated in a few years

DLC is great but i was never happy buying music, shows or movies through itunes or XBL because of all the restrictions. i want to move my media between drives and discs without anybody bugging me about it.
