The follow-up to the surprise hit, Skate, is said to improve upon the original in so many different ways. Not only will you have the ability to get off the board and move objects, but thanks to a new web based customization tool available on www.skate.ea.com next month, players will be able to import graphics and give their skater and their equipment some sort of individuality.
The premise of Skate 2 is simple; you are sent to New San Vanelona after a huge natural disaster with the task of rebuilding the skate scene there, as well as your own career.
In addition to the release date announcement, EA announced that the folks in North America who preorder can also get their hands on the Throwback Pack which includes "a variety of retro stylings including, tie-dye t-shirts, Skate or Die apparel, Robot and Window Shade sunglasses, gestures circa the hippie-age and much more".
Skate 2 will be available on January 21st in North America and the 23rd everywhere else.
