Last night when I got home from work my wife and her friends were playing Scene It out in the family room. So I thought that it would be a perfect time to check out the New game. After they finished the game they were playing, I told them about the new demo and they went nuts.

I set it up and got it going and The first comment I heard is " what the fuck are those" talking about the new Avatars. So I explained to them about the new update coming out next month and the whole avatar thing. OK, so they start playing the demo and it's pretty much more of the same as the last game, just with some newer more up to date titles witch was what I expected.

What I didn't expect was the endless bitching about how dumb the avatar shit was. I mean this was a room full of girls that varied in age and NOT hardcore gamers. They played it till it started to repeat and all they talked about was the avatars. So I explained to them that if they set up there own accounts that they will be able to customize their own avatar and make them their own.

Nope, they didn't like it, and I'm starting to think that MS is making a big mistake with this. If a room full of girls that are not even what I would call casual gamers hate it, then what else am I to think. I know I been posting to just wait and see. I'm still trying to be optimistic about the whole thing, but after last night that's going to be hard to do.

MS better ramp up the whole PR on this in a big way if they want this to work. Just thought I would share my glimpse of avatars in action with you all.

I downloaded the demo last night, I'll have to check it out tonight. I didn't know the new avatars would be in it. I personally could care less whether or not the new avatars suck, im more excited about all the other things the NXE will do.

Yeah me to. I hope we can control how the avatar behaves though. I wouldn't want mine just standing around trying to be cool. I want to be able to cut loose and be a huge ASSHAT. LOL!!! They should make a dashboard game were all your friends avatars can beat the crap out of each other. That would make it a lot more fun!!!
