Question about selling my 360.
07/12/09 10:50 pm | #1
Does anyone know if I can take my 360 to Gamestop and just go up and sell it, no questions asked? I have opened it so warranty is voided but do they check that sort of thing? Please let me know as I'm going to Gamestop tomorrow.

it all depends. they r "supposed" to test it to make sure it works but some dont. if you kno of one that dont have a tv anywhere on the counter then they prolly dont check. thats what i did with mine when i got the RROD for the first time. its all luck im afraid

As a Eb games employee...yes i would be checking for warranty sticker, and i do test systems. but thats me, a lot of Gamestops/Eb games are ghetto and dont care. So just give it a shot

Well, it's not technically broken 'yet'. It goes RROD after like an hour of play, so I figured I could just rip off Gamestop pretty much haha. They deserve it though, gave my friend 11$ for Fable 2 a week after it came out.

well if it turns on and starts a game within 5 mins u should be fine if it RROD then they will offer u 40 for the xbox and i think 20 or 40 for the HD. or u can just take it back. just play dumb if it does and pretend like it never did it before

Well it's not fully broken, I'm sure it'll turn on but if you leave it on the screen starts glitching and eventually RROD.

I sold my old Xbox (warranty was void) with a 20gb HDD to Gamestop a couple months back. I brought in all of the cables, the controller, and microphone. They gave me $80-90 and told me to keep the microphone because the foamy part on the mouthpiece had came off about a year ago. The Xbox I sold to them was about 2 1/2 years old and was showing some occasional signs of RROD. Fortunately, they took it.
My advice for you... bring in all of the cables and accessories that came in the box with your original Xbox. You may bank a few extra dollars doing this.
Hope this helps.
