Political Forum?

The latest news about Microsoft allowing users to register to vote through the 360 has sprouted some political discussions here on Xbox America. Despite the sensitive topic that usually leads to heated emotions, everyone has been able to remain calm.

This whole thing has also resurrected a hope of mine to one day run a mature politics discussion forum. I was wondering how many of you would be interested in such a site? Not everyone enjoys the discussion of politics, so such a forum wouldn't be for everyone. In addition, if I were to create such a site, there would be a strictly enforced age and maturity requirement.

If you're interested, please, let me know.

I don't believe that I would be interested, but I do think that is a good idea!

It would help younger people see a few different sides of the coin. I think that an uninformed voter is worse than a non-voter. If Microsoft believes that registering on Xbox live is a way to spark interest in voting for the younger generation, then they should also come up with a way to enlighten people to the issues. This would definately be a start. A good way to educate in a media that speaks to their times.

As long as it doesn't become out of control, like we are all aware it can!

That I can completely understand.

I like to discuss politics because many times, someone will sway my opinion. I get afraid of becoming too set on my opinions that I don't see the truth. I see discussion as a great way to keep my opinions on their toes. If I can't back them up in a discussion, it's definitely time to weigh the facts again.

A political viewpoint is a private thing though, and not wanting to discuss it is a completely understandable sentiment.

No, don't get me wrong, I would read silently. That is what I did with any political topic that I have ever seen on here. I am interested in the other side. I get what you're saying boobie! I just don't actively, and openly discuss things of that nature. I would be there in your forum, but not participating. Like I said, I think that is a great idea!

No, no, there was no hidden meaning in that post. I just wanted to explain myself, because traditionally political discussions are more adequately described as terrifyingly brutal verbal wars and actually wanting to participate in one can seem inhuman at times.

LOL That's the way 95% of them that I've ever seen have been! That's why I thought that the one we had today was refreshing for sure! It restores my faith in people!!

I think this is a wonderful idea boobs...I will participate, but not very much just because I dont follow politics that much, not as much as I should I guess...But yeah this would be a great idea.
