New 360 Dashboard?

Quote by XBOX360FANBOY:
After our initial reveal of the Xbox 360 avatars, it was still in the realm of rumors. Now, after the Microsoft press conference, we can be sure that they are absolutely real. And they're just a small part of a much larger overhaul to the entire 360 Dashboard. Avatars will integrated into the larger 360 experience via a community "channel", when your friends come online, their avatars will appear in said channel.
Microsoft is also creating a party system via the community channel which will allow for users to chat in large groups, share the media from their hard drives, and more. Demonstrated was the ability to move the party from photos, to videos, to games all while keeping the party of Avatars and players together.
Also unveiled was "Xbox Live Primetime" which allows for Avatars to be used in a mix of game show, video game and traditional TV. Additionally, Microsoft promises to have "real prizes" available through Primetime.
Now, obviously this article is mainly based upon the avatar system that 360 is going to incorporate in place of the gamepics, but I saw the dashboard picture and wanted to post it along with this. It could look totally different than it does in this picture, but I thought it would settle some of our curiosity for the time being.
If anyone has heard if this is the new dashboard than please let us know. As of right now I don't think I have heard anyone confirm it to be or not.
But tell me what you guys think of the "new dashboard" if this is indeed the new one.

I thought I remember reading some quote saying the blade dashboard wasn't going away. I don't know. I wouldn't mind this because I don't really like the blades. The animations take too long for me.

Yeah, I would like to see something else as well...But if you look, they still have the blade's, just in a different format you know?
I see what your saying, I personally like this and would like for it to be in the update. I guess I'm just trying to make reasons for this to be true, HaHa!

Quote by Microsoft's John Schappert:
"When people turn on their Xbox 360s this fall, they'll get an entirely new interface and Dashboard, an entirely new Xbox through the magic of software
-New features will include those fancy new Mii-like 3D Avatars, a new emphasis on community with IM, video chat, and photo sharing, along with a brand new 3D slide interface for the main Dashboard screen
There you have it guys...This will be the new look for your 360 Console. The picture along with this article was the showing of the new dashboard, which, like I already posted, is located in my original post

Check this out guys
Quote by Gizmodo:
The current blade-based dash design still exists inside the Guide, and they've ported a lot of the current dash features there so you can actually access much of it from inside games. No browsing marketplace though.
The new dashboard is fast and fluid, getting rid of the delays that come up when you're switching blades (occasionally) and loading up the thumbnails of your XBLA games. There's also an Apple TV-like reflection under each icon representing games, and the whole thing looks vaguely Cover Flow-like.
There's a new Quick Launch feature from the Guide (the thing that pops up when you click the Xbox button on your controller) that lets you switch to any game you currently have installed. XBLA games or retail (if the disc is in your drive).
Avatars will be used in XBLA games, Xbox 360 retail games and Xbox Primetime games.
Avatars will be available for everyone, even Xbox Live Silver members. If you don't like them, you can still use gamerpics instead.
"Primetime" games are like gameshows and will be more of a streamed experience rather than a boxed game or an XBLA game. It's a third type of game on the Xbox.
All of the marketplace content will be listed on xbox.com so you can browse and queue up downloads for them to your Xbox. If your console is on, it seems like stuff is downloaded as you add them to your queue.
The 8-people party system lets you basically chat with all your friends no matter where you are in any game, and then be able to drag each one through games with you. People who don't have the game the party leader loaded will get a screen telling them to go buy it
I know that made a lot of you happy...Don't know anything about themes yet
We Still Have Blades Too
I don't know about all of you guys...But I am kind of looking forward to the PRIMETIME thing as well.
I been looking to see if I can find a release date for all of this (that's when I ran across this article) But all I seem to be getting is that we can expect all of this around November, probably around the birthday of the 360. If anyone comes across anything different, please post.

is word about upcoming 16x10 widescreen support, as well as 1440x900 or 1680x1050 output resolutions. This should make things a bit easier for people who like to hook their console up to LCD monitors and avoid extra scaling and bars when hooked up via VGA or HDMI
