Nested quotes
07/01/09 12:16 am | #1
Does anyone particularly like how quotes are allowed to be nested within each other? I would like to get rid of all nesting so that when you quote someone, you don't see anyone he quoted, just his response.

Sometimes you may do it that way on purpose to quote 2 people at the same time, so to speak.
But I can see your point as well.
Another idea is one I use on this and other sites, but requires people to not be lazy. Delete the excess parts of the quote that are unnessacery for your response.

Without nested quotes you can still quote two people, just not one quote within the other. I'm going to restrict the nested quotes no matter what, but I'm not sure if I'll allow 1 or 2 nested, or just none.

Granted I'm sure they take up more space but sometimes can be useful in threads that keep growing. It makes no real difference to me though.

It's all good man. I was just giving my $0.02
Like I said, if people don't delete what they don't need, it can get really out of hand.

I like 'em but it obviously wouldn't matter if they were there or not.
