More Space Wanted!

So I am running out of space on my 20 gig Xbox and I am not ready to upgrade my harddrive. I was wondering if I delete past games that I have completed, will the achievements still be there and will not be wiped out along with the saved game data. Thanks for the help in advance.

IT will keep everything, jsut you would have to start a new game if you ever played it again. So your good to go.

Sorry to bring this thread back up but after deleting 7-8 games, a few demos, and 2 albums of music i only deleted 1 GB of space. Looking through my Memory Breakdown, i only have 10 GBs of memory dedicated to games and only a few MBs here and there dedicated to Gamerpics, Themes, etc. etc. (no video memory). That being said I only have 3 GB of FREE space which does not add up. I am not sure what is being stored in the 6-7 GB of free space I should have, and do not see anything that can be using this memory. Anyone have a similar problem or advice?

You will never get the full amount of memory out of a hard drive. Same goes with ipods etc. There is system software etc that takes up space that you cannot and should not delete (without hacking into it.) There's a good chance that your 20 GB HD has a gig or maybe a few dedicated to this stuff. I'm sure you'll find out if you google it.

Operating systems on harddrives take up significant amounts of space... as kent stated you'll never get to use all of it...

Same thing happened to a friend of mine, he eventually just bought another hard drive.

I just got a new elite with the 120 gb hard drive and after cleaning out all of the preloaded videos and games I only had 107 gb of space to actually fill with DLC's and games
