it about both. a lot of people buy the ps3 soley because they want blu-ray and it happens to be the cheapest quality blu-ray player around. if many consoles are sold but aren't used for gaming can they really be called the most popular "gaming console." to me it depends on how the consumers are using it but also how much there using it. i own a 360 and a wii and probably play my 360 for like 30hrs most weeks and my wii for maybe 1 or 2 hrs a week. if most other owners of these consoles are like me then the two could have equal sales but the 360 would be the better gaming console.
