I'm F'n PISSED!!!!!
04/29/08 12:19 am | #1
So as I'm waiting to head up to my local Gamestop for the midnight release of GTAIV I decide to play some RB6:V2 to kill some time. I turn on my xbox to get a flashing RED light NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! It's only 1 flashing red light (the bottom right light) and informs me that I have a system error and to contact Xbox Customer Support. I'm so F'n pissed, what are the chances the peice of shit breaks hours before the release. What pisses me off even more is that I was playing earlier today like I normally do

holy shit after unplugging everything including the hard drive, I plugged everything back in and left the hard drive off and it turned on with NO red light!!!! I'm afraid to turn it off now and put the hard drive back on, what if it gives me the red light again?
So I turn it off, put the hard drive back on, turn it back on and RED flashing light!! NOOOO, so I turn it off and turn it right back on and now its working, I'm not turning the bastard off for a couple days, or atleast till I get my fix of GTAIV

was it this one?
The lower-right quadrant of the Ring of Light flashes red on the front of the Xbox 360 console.
This behavior occurs when an Xbox 360 Hard Drive hardware failure occurs.
1. Turn off the console.
2. Remove the hard drive. For more information about how to attach or remove the Xbox 360 Hard Drive, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
906204 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906204/) Xbox 360: How to attach or remove the Xbox 360 Hard Drive
3. Reattach the hard drive, and then turn on the console. If the problem persists, discuss replacement options with the agent.
4. Obtain the latest automatic update for the Xbox 360. To do this, connect to Xbox Live.
5. If you continue to experience this behavior, contact Xbox Customer Service.
Note If the agent cannot help you resolve this issue, you must replace the hard drive. Discuss your replacement options with the agent.
hopefully its that if not its porb a hardware failure. =\

That sucks man. At least it sounds like it's only the hard drive, so worse comes to worse you pick up a new one.

It was the lower right one just like Kamikaze8 described. I unplugged everthing and it still wouldnt work, but I was persistant in turning it off and on while simultaneously opening the disc tray and it eventually turned on like normal. I played last night for a couple hours, turned the xbox off and immediatly turned it back on just to see if it would go red again and it didnt. It appears that it is not the hard drive because I played with it on last night. I'm sure she's destined for a full on "red ring of death" in the near future. I sure hope not because GTAIV is so freakin amazing. I sat and watched T.V. in Niko's cousins apartment last night for like 30 minutes, then went and bowled, who knows tonight I might hit up the strip club and "make it rain" hahahaaha

haha.
just be careful.
if you have a memory card back up some of the important stuff.
could have been a faulty connection.
or a forewarning.
but glad to hear its still working.
