Well folks, we all knew it was coming. With the stellar sales of Guitar Hero III, Red Octane has set us up with some new in game content. Already leaked throughout the Internet what this content would contain, currently there are two new downloadable packs:

Velvet Revolver Pack: Retailing for 500MS Points, the Velvet Revolver pack contains "She Builds Quick Machines" Off of the "Libertad Allbum", "Slither" Off of the "Contraband Allbum", & "Messages" Off of the "Libertad (deluxe version)".

Foo Fighters Pack: For another 500MS Points, fans can also pick up the Foo Fighters which contains the songs "The Pretender" Off of the "Echoes Silence Patience & Grace", "All My life" Off of the "One by One", & "This Is A Call" Off of the "Foo Fighters (self titled)"

Along with these two downloadable packs are two free trailers that will preview this content.

While I am happy that Red Octane has been prompt about releasing downloadable content, again it feels like loyal fans are being ripped off. It just makes me wonder why these six songs couldn't have been included in the game. I guess if you are a fan of the band, however, then 500MS points is a small price to pay for three of their songs.

you can buy the guitar hero 3 soundtrack and get 3 additional songs to play, i think.

I know a lot of people are going to cry foul over the pricing again. At first, even I was pretty mad. But after thinking about it, 500MPs isn't really unreasonable (although 400MPs would be a much better solution).

We aren't getting GH2 or GH1 rehashes, we're getting completely new material, each with it's own song structure. I'm not getting the game for another month or two, but I'll probably download the packs ahead of time so I can enjoy them when I do get it.
