Graphics card ?

Hey guys i am having trouble finding things to get for Christmas. And my graphics card sucks. I can't seem to find where they have graphics cards that are compatible with my pc. I am hopping that if they are reasonablely priced i will get one.
here's my specs:
Dell Inspiron 530
500Gb of hard drive space
3Gb of RAM
4 proccesor cores
32-bit vista
My card is - Intel(R) G33/G31 Express chip set family
286MB total avalible graphics memory
0MB dedicated graphics memory
128MB Dedicated system memory
158MB shared System memory
7.14.10.1437 Display adapter version
1440x900 primary monitor resolution
driectX 9.0 or higher

Thanks in advance this is one of the few computer related things i am not good with and sorry if i am missing or there is useless info here

well im upgrading mine this christmas so I can run pretty much any game on my computer, but mostly cuz of fallout. and Im getting an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Video Card, which is 149.99 on tigerdirect.

Yea, the card you have right now is integrated, so it sucks since it is running off of the system's memory instead of using its own. I bought a GeForce 9800 and it does me just fine; right now as far as nVidia cards go the 280s are the newest, the 9800 was last year's big card. A 280 can go for almost four hundred dollars, where as a good online deal can get you a 9800 for around 150.

Look for how much memory the card has; more memory is always better. Find out what open slots you have on your computer as far as PCIe, AGP, etc. Just by your specs we cannot tell, but if you enter your service tag at Dell.com you should be able to pull up a spec sheet showing what open slots are on your board.

Worse comes to worse, get a PCI card. A PCI card is pretty much guaranteed to fit since every computer has PCI slots. Judging from your specs, however, i am guessing your computer is fairly new and should have an open PCIe slot.

hey thanks but i have one more Question i have 3 open PCI slots so can I get any type of card or is there certain ones that are compatible, because i am trying to get my number up on the performance index on vista because all of my stuff is like 5 of more except for my graphics it is very low

If you only have PCI slots open, then you need a PCI graphics card, which is very different from PCIe. PCI graphics card normally are not as powerful or as fast as other graphics cards, simply being that something like an AGP or PCIe slot is made specifically for graphics adapters. You should still be able to find yourself a decent one; my old Dell rig was a PIII with only 512MB of memory, and my PCI Radeon 9250 ran everything I ever wanted to play.

Yea my only slots are PCI and the one being used is my wireless network card which shouldn't get in they way

That card you linked to is a PCIe card (PCI-Express). You need a standard PCI card.
