Forza 3 Demo Thoughts:
First and foremost, WOW! This game is amazing in detail and presentation! I have never seen a game so beautiful in the environments, to the vehicles and to the sound! I had to sit and catch my breath after seeing the way the game played and how full 60FPS looked and felt.
I began playing from class D and moved up from there. I set my options to custom and modified the assists and difficulty.
Autobrake: Off
Antilock Brakes: On
Stability Control: Off
Traction Control: On
Shifting: Automatic
Suggested Line: Brake Only
Opponent Difficulty: Easy (Later Changed to Medium)
Damage, Fuel and Tire Wear: Simulation
I then began my trek into this demo. Like I said, I began using the 09 Mini John Cooper Works, so that I can get a feel for the track, as well as the driving mechanics. After the first lap, I was down 4 cars, but quickly made my way to first after taking some chances going fast on turns.
The way the car felt, the way it moved, is what I would expect from the car in real life. Every time I started to go off track, the car began to pull harder into the grass area, making the car harder to control. The sound of the car is nice, and sets the tone for the vehicle well, and does not at all sound digitized. The A.I. maneuvered very well around me, and they did not seem like the average CPU opponent, but smarter. All in all, great experience on the first race.
While moving up through the cars, and trying out the different platforms; you can really tell and feel the difference of how the car reacts to how it should be driven and how you are driving it. You have to really adjust yourself accordingly. In example, The Mini, felt like a nice slow small car, while the R8, felt heavy, but picked up big time up top in the power band. Really fun learning the vehicles.
Out of the demo, I would have to say the Best Feeling Car in my Opinion, would be the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR while the Worst Feeling Car would be the 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro. The most fun race would go to the 2007 Porsche #80 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR.
The demo, is great, well crafted and gives the user more to crave while waiting for the games, release on October 27th, 2009
If you have not downloaded it yet, your only hurting yourself and losing out on the experience!
