Well, in a blow to diehard PC gamers everywhere, Crysis 2 has been announced as being multiplatform! That's right, the PC gaming arguement of "At least we have Crysis!" is no longer viable. The game is the second in a planned trilogy, which seems to be the new thing these days (have we learned nothing from Shenmue???), and will be published by Electronic Arts.
"The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio," said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. "This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it's the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3."
It will be really interesting to see if Crysis 2 will be able to stack up to the original in terms of graphics, being on consoles with set hardware. Nothing on a release date as of right now.
