I get to the point where you run through the delta of water to the field with the guy who carries the searchlight and always die from the enemy helicopter and/or people on the bridge. Any tips?

Yeah, just stick with your squad and take it slow. There comes a point where the ruskies are gonna see you regardless and that may be the point your talking about. Is it when you're in the field, there's a guy with a flashlight at 2 o'clock alone in the field, his squad is to the left along a fence, and there's the tractor by the cellar door?

The whole cod series, especially cod 2 on veteran to complete 100% is STEALTH and SMOKE GRENADES.. know your opportunity to push a little bit when you get some kills but don't make to much at one time..

That is the point where your cover is blown and you have to hold off the enemy while Gaz opens the cellar door. If you think this parts tough, just wait till ya get to the end of the level when your squad comes up on the barn where you have to take out another company of ruskies before getting a Javeline rocket launcher to shoot down the search chopper. That part took me almost an hour to beat.
