yeah you have to pay but not while beta you can also buy a lifetime membership for 150 wich isnt to bad but still dumb but the game is getting good reviews but havent got to play it yet cuz like 30k people tried to join beta and it took five hours to download and i still havenmt got the update yet lol mmos suck but i lovr em so much
