My question is: While playing Braid should you be able to figure out how to get the puzzle pieces right away or do you gain abilities that allow you to get them later on in the game. Like world one towards the end there are two pieces that I can't jump to and I can't figure out how to get to them. Do I have to move on to gain an ability or am I just not thinking hard enough?

I just purchased Braid today and I didn't want to read any walkthroughs to figure this out so If you can help me that would be awesome! ( I didn't want to be spoiled on the story or the puzzles)

You DO have to go back for some things! I worried about that at first, but I figured it out! Cool ass game for sure!!

Yeah when I wrote this thread I had a terrible headache and wasn't thinking hard enough. I went back to play it later when the headache had gone away and things made more sense and I was able to get most of the pieces. Some puzzles are very hard and some are slap in the face easy!

The concept of having everything you need to get the pieces in each level was completely mind boggling to me. It wasn't until I was a bit through the 2nd or 3rd world when I realized that these are all self contained. My entire gaming life had programmed me to see a puzzle piece out of reach and think "Oh well, I'll just come get that when I can jump higher."
Braid was an amazing experience for me. Definitely one of my favorite XBLA games of the summer, if not all time.

I don't know I just got to the ending and thought the epilogue was a bit confusing. I'm just wondering if I'm missing some scripture.

I waited a month and played the demo many times and I guess its worth it. It's one of the best gaming experiences I've had since Bioshock.
