Assault Hero is now available in the XBLA.

I had a chance to download it and play it for a few minutes until I had to leave for work.

I'm always up for something original that comes to XBLA. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for the retro games, but this one is loads of fun even after just playing for about ten minutes.

At least take the time to download the trial and see how you like it.

After being able to give a bit more time to Assault Heroes I wanted to give my opinion of it.

Graphics: 3.5/5
It's in HD and provides an enjoyable graphic experience. The game graphics could be compared to that of the original XBox and by no means is a put down on this title.

Sound: 3/5
The sounds of items blowing up and the firing of grenades, bullets, etc can only be done in so many ways. It fits the game and lets you know when something has been destroyed or shots have been fired.

Gameplay: 4/5
You are started in your little assault vehicle and can begin blowing up soldiers, bunkers, tanks, planes and many other enemies that are coming after you. If your vehicle gets destroyed you still can go on foot and rack up the points in the game as you get bonus points for "on foot" attacks. Underground levels add a nice twist. Controls are good and allow you to go where you want either in vehicle or on foot. Very natural controls.

Cost: 4/5
It will cost you 800 Microsoft Points which translates to $10.00 US
To some it may appear as too much, but this is an independent developer and I always like to support the small independent developers so they can make some profit and if successful will allow them to release even more titles to the XBox Live Acrade or possibly a full retail game.

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5

Buy or No Buy:
BUY - After playing through the trial the first time, I knew I had to hit the Buy Full Version.

Only thing I can complain about from having played the demo is that the vertically-scrolling camera did not move up fast enough, I had to back up and WAIT for the camera to move so I could see what enemies were coming.
