Ubisoft Announces Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2
Sequel to their 2009 flight-combat action game coming this fall
It was revealed last week that Ubisoft still has two unannounced Tom Clancy games in the works, and now that mystery has been at least halfway solved: Ubisoft announced today that Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is in development and slated for release later this year.
This is of course the sequel to 2009's Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. (pictured above), a flight-combat action game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC (pop quiz -- who still remembers what "H.A.W.X." stands for? Why, "High Altitude Warfare eXperimental squadron," sillies!). H.A.W.X. 2 will once again take 360, PS3, and PC gamers into the sky, and will add the Wii to its list of platforms as well.
Gameplay details in the announcement were light, with the press release promising control of "the world's most technologically advanced aircraft," and "amazing aerial warfare missions" in the sequel. "With over one million units sold worldwide, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. has become a very successful brand for Ubisoft," stated Ubisoft creative director Bogdan Bridinel. "This new H.A.W.X. game is directly inspired by Tom Clancy's books, and it will enable fans to once again experience the excitement and intensity that established H.A.W.X. as a successful brand."
H.A.W.X. 2 is in development at Ubisoft Bucharest (the same studio behind the original H.A.W.X.), and will be released this fall.
So, do you think this will be a "Hit or a Miss?"
