Months ago SEGA announced Project Needlemouse , a new Sonic project that SEGA was working on and now its revealed to us as Sonic The Hedgehog, Episode 1. From the trailer at that time they mentioned speed in 3D in the Traditional 2D format that the original Sonic games were built upon. Last night SEGA's associate Ken Balough has an interview with Gamespot and told us more about Project Needlemouse. It seems that Sonic will be the only playable character in this game however this wont be the last we see of Sonics 2D adventure, the game is said to be only Episode 1 out of many more, Ken Balough had this to say
Quote by Ken Balough:
"As mentioned, I think the best way to view it is as a first part in a much larger adventure. When Sega released Sonic 3, ultimately it was the part 1 of a story that saw its conclusion in Sonic & Knuckles. In that same spirit, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is a bigger story, and this is that first chapter. I think it's also safe to say that by the end of the episode one, fans will be very excited to see what's in store for episode two!"
After all the failure Sonic games to its old school fans, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Unleashed ... we SHOULD expect better things from Project Needlemouse. The game is going to be a XBLA game and is set to release sometime this year. Look forward to it
