Wolfenstein (2009) Review!
So who hasn't gotten tired of going into Nazi Territory and raising hell!? I for one love to take them out one after another...Especially with Special Powers!
Wolfenstein, is a totally new experience compared to its much older counterpart. The Game offers a great single player mode with in depth story and great gameplay that meshes well together to bring you a very solid game! Multiplayer also plays a huge role here and also bring you many fun and different modes to have fun with your buddies and fellow Wolfenstein fans!
When I first received Wolfenstein, I was a bit skeptical about it. How could the original be turned into a new cutting edge game on the next gen console? Once I popped Wolfenstein into my Xbox 360 and I began my trek into the Single Player mode, starting on the Hardest of the 4 Difficulties known as Uber, I was hooked!
The Single player mode dives you right into the action where you are already being pursued by Nazi Soldiers. Your Adrenaline Begins to pump and you start following the on screen characters to your next objective or area.
The controls are easy to learn and if your into any other FPS game, you should be able to play it with little to no issues at all. You can jump, kneel, zoom in with weapons, melee, etc. You also have a Sort of like Compass on the top of the screen which guides you to your next objective, which allows you to stay on track instead of wasting time, being lost in a level.
Once you get far enough into the game, you come across a power known as Veil, which gives you some handy perks to get through a level, but can also create new obstacles for yourself which adds to the fun factor in a way.
There are also collectibles in the game you can find known as GOLD, Tomes of Power and INTEL. Finding INTEL allows you to unlock new upgrades for your weapons and can allow you more perks as well. GOLD allows you to buy more of the goodies as well. Some achievements are based on finding the collectibles as well.
The single player if played correctly can be completed within 12 hours or less if you skip the collectibles.
The Multiplayer mode, allows for some fun friendly combat! You play on different teams and compete with each other for the highest score! This adds a whole new level of replay value and allows you to enjoy Wolfenstein to its fullest extent! The game features many online multiplayer achieves, but can be boosted rather easily with a buddy or two.
Overall the game has some pretty sweet cutscenes, music, obstacles and surprises to keep you hooked for quite a while!
This is how the game scores on the JuniorMT Meter!
Gameplay: 8.5
Graphics: 7.5
Sound: 8.0
Controls: 8.0

So Overall, this game Scores an 8.0 from me! Go out and purchase it on 8/18/09 and enjoy this game to the fullest! If not then you must rent it as you will not be let down!
