Raven Squad: Operation Hidden Dagger Review!
(Picture of Box Art Courtesy of Hollywoodvideo.com)
Raven Squad, you are a crew of bad ass military operatives who are on your way to Amazonian land when your plane is brutally shot down. You are seperated from your friends and have to make due in finding them and surviving. Needless to say your not seperated for long and are quickly on your way to raising some hell!
A different style of gaming composed of both FPS and RTS systems. You can either command or take control of the Squad to complete your challenges. You can take on the style of up to 6 different Squad members and unleash their special weapon skills, either consisting of grenades, sniper, RPGs, etc. Your main goal is to survive through the Amazons, and complete your objective in finding out whatever INTEL the Guerrillas have in their possession. You can do all of this solo, but hell if you get bored, you can play with a friend online to enhance your gaming perspective!
The Graphics of the game, are actually decent. By no means are they ground breaking as what you would see in the latest Call of Duty series, but they are very manageable. Not much to say about them as like I said, we have seen this style before in older games.
Sound, well this is where the game begins to suck. The voice overs are extremely over-acted and do not sound fitting to any scenario. Everyone sounds like a dang robot, and that just isn't fun or cool. The weapons sound decent, and the explosions are loud and boomy but nothing too special in this area either.
Game Replay Value, is okay. I am sure most will not do it, but in order to get all achievements, you need to go through the game on Single and on Multiplayer. The game, should also be played on the hardest difficulty as this game is really not that hard.
Controls, it plays like any other FPS game while in that mode and is very easy to get used too. The RTS mode takes a little getting used to but nothing too hard.
Achievements, well this game is damn easy to net a 1k. Just putting yourself through it to do them, is another story. The Multiplayer Achieve is worth 100 points, and all levels have achievements for completing them too. You also get story based achievements for completing certain objectives on certain difficulties. All in all, decently easy waffler.
All in all this game had a great idea, but needs some major polishing in both the graphics and voice acting areas. If those were done right, this game could have earned a great rating.
My Ratings for this Game
Graphics: 6.0
Sound: 5.5
Controls: 7.5
