Introducing: The Spartan Laser

Bungie gave some details on one of the new weapons in Halo 3. This one is called the Spartan Laser. Capable of taking out vehicles or personnel, it is one of the most powerful weapons in the arsenal, yet incredibly heavy and slow to fire. The screenshots below show the Spartan Laser in action.
