For as long as I can remember, I have never bought a platinum/greatest hits version of a game due to the ugly design they get on their covers. I would go out of my way to find a regular version of it so it doesn't throw off the flow of the other games on my shelves lol. If a game is released as a Platinum/Greatest Hits or GOTY Edition with extras on it (ex: Gears of War 2), I personally haven't done so, but I most likely would get the regular edition and not care about the extras that I miss out on. It's a little OCD I know -_-

The only games I have in my collection that are bargain releases are Final Fantasy 7 and 8 due to not being able to find them for a price I'm willing to pay.

Just curious if anyone else does this <_<

Never bought one either since the platinum or greatest hits used to be $20 now their almost all $30 so it just seems much cheaper to go to gamestop and buy it for 15-20 bucks.

I just ordered Mass Effect from Amazon, and chances are it's going to be a Platinum Hits... so I'm going to download the normal art and exchange it. I have a few PS2 Greatest Hits that I don't care about, and also have the Greatest Hits FF7. But other than that I try to stay away from those.
