I guess I am asking you if you even try to explain your gaming habit to your family or friends. I just tell people that it's my hobby, and my wife doesn't have to wonder where I am.
My brother-in-law is a 'golf aficionado' which is a camouflage term for 'golf snob'. He bugs me about my gaming hobby and I just tell him it's easily compared to his golf hobby (which he hates it when I call it a hobby). He talks about his handicap + I talk about my G/S (not really, but you get the idea.) He goes out to the course and I head into my bedroom where my console is located.

but when I just want to relax and have no pressure on me I play video games. I don't care about the storyline for the most part, just play for fun. If a game starts to stress me out I stop playing. If I'm going to game to leave everyday stresses behind then there is no point in playing a game once it gets stressful.
