Game related deaths

I was reading today about another gamer from Taiwan that died after a gaming session, personally i find it sad and kinda messed up, i know you need to take care of your body and what you do has consequences but the kid in the more recent headline was 18, the other guy was 23 sometimes i just wonder why, the 23 year old died and was dead for 13 hours before anyone even checked on him.
the man had paid for 23 hours and the only reason they checked on him was because his paid time was over, the thought that someone could have died in the same room and not get discovered for 13 hours kinda makes me sick (btw the whole pic in the paper thing way over the top) even more so that it was only the time limit they were concerned about :no:

What's the point of playing for that long??? I just don't understand why u would need to do that.

I've played multiple Trials HD/Evolution tracks for 10+ hours straight until I got the record on them. If I die doing that, I'll die full of so much rage I'll haunt the shit out of everyone.

I usually get up and get something to drink or stretch every hour or so, can't really sit that long without wanting to get up and move a bit. If you sit in a single position for a long period of time, that's where the danger comes into play. Very easy for clots to form that way.

Maybe if you're that dumb to sit in the same spot for 40 hours without taking even a 10 minute break, you kinda deserve it... Let the dumb ones die out and only the slightly smarter remain :yes:

Exactly. If you don't get up and move around a little your body is a lot more likely to form clots. No matter what your age happens to be. Nothing wrong with marathon gaming sessions as long as you don't literally sit in the same spot for hours at a time. Get up, stretch, switch positions, something...

This kid was in a gaming tournament and never moved from the same spot. He ordered a lot of junk food and pissed in a bottle and he made a seat that he could poop in so he didn't have to get up. He was playing in the game tournament for 60hrs straight. Then he lost. So he decided to get up and when he got up he died instantly. He died because he got a massive blood clot in his legs. Due to all the junk food he ordered and not moving for 2.5 days. So get up every now and then or else you will DIE!

I don't get how people can even handle being in one position for so long to begin with. Just typing this post I've already adjusted how I was sitting once. Maybe I'm just fidgety when I'm playing games/on the computer, but even at work if I'm sitting for a while, I'll stand up and just stretch.

I know back in 2008 I had a scare where I got bad eyestrain and passed out when I stood up from a marathon session on Mario Kart Wii, around 20 hours.

Damn... That is crazy.. I think I can go about 2 hours of nonstop play before I have to rest my eyes, but even then I am adjusting my position and such.

Not to be insincere, but if I somehow DID die from something like that, I think I would want them to check my brain cell count because I'd obviously be lacking any sort of common sense :rolleyes:

I'm lazy as fuck and even I can't sit in one position for that long. Serious commitment there. That's super messed up though. They really didn't even bother checking on him? Wtf?
