I've been looking around lately the past few days at the Dragon Age books and since I didn't see a topic about anything involving this I figured I'd start a topic about it since someone on this site has to have read at least some of them. My question is are they actually worth the read? Are they slow to get in to? Should I play Origins or DA2 before reading a certain book in the series? I think there are 7 books. The Stolen Throne, The Calling, Asunder, Masked Empire, The World of Thedas Volume 1 and 2, and one due out sometime this month I think. Anyway, feel free to post your thoughts on them.

I don't know about the Dragon Age books but I did read one of the Assassin's Creed books, Renaissance. It was basically AC II in the form of a book.

They've been out for quite some time I believe, 2009 is when Stolen Throne came out (prequel to the events of dragon age origins), The Calling also came out that year and is another prequel novel. The World of Thedas volumes 1 and 2 are guide books from what I've been looking up (I looked up most of the books on the dragon age wiki). All in all each actual book is around 10-15 bucks on amazon. But since money is kind of tight for me right now I wanted to know if anyone here has read them so I know how they read so I don't waste money if I don't like them.
