Custom Xbox 360 consoles

I've wanted to start a thread about this for some time, so I guess now is as good of a time as any.

As several of you know, I have been tinkering around with Xboxes for awhile now and it is really something that I enjoy doing. (sometimes more than gaming!)

It started out with my Elite getting the RROD and my lazy ass never bothered to send it in before the warranty expired. I fixed that one and then fixed my wife's launch console that was gathering dust. Then I started acquiring as many broken consoles as I could find and reviving them.

That turned into case modification. If anyone has gone to my profile page here on XBA or is friends with me on Facebook, you have probably seen a few of my projects.Right now I'm in the middle of making a custom Ohio State 360 for IRiSH. (I'll include pictures and video on that one when I finish! It looks nice so far!)

I'm making an Infinite Light Box mod 360 for my son and I made a video of it and decided to share it with you all!

I'd like to come back to this thread from time to time to share project progress reports and give any others out there who have painted, cut, defaced, folded, spindled or mutilated their 360 or accessories an opportunity to share their pictures, videos and stories with everyone here at Xboxamerica!

So how about it? Is anyone else interested in this? Feel free to share!

Nice. Only customization I got for my Xbox is one of those sticker things that you can put on your Xbox to make it look nice.

One of the problems is how much a console costs to ship. It's usually around $15 each way, so there's $30 before I even touch it. Right now I'm trying to build up a portfolio to see if this would be worth doing as a side job and so I have references. That means for now, I would be doing it for little more than material costs.

Another problem is that I work hours that are almost equivalent to 2 full time jobs, it can take awhile to finish projects. Nobody wants to be without their console for an extended period of time. The reason I'm doing IRiSH's is because it was his broken backup console.

I was thinking to combat the time problem by grabbing a couple extra console shells (HDMI and non-HDMI) so the customer and I could discuss a design and I could do the case and then when that's done, they just send me the console and I swap out their guts and keep their case. Then it would be minimal downtime. I have several non-HDMI cases, but all of my HDMI cases are being used as personal consoles.

Still, if you are interested in a custom case, feel free to PM me and we can discuss it. I'm always willing to do these!

Disclaimer**

This will void your warranty, and if you have a broken Xbox that is still under warranty, I implore you to take advantage of it and send your console to them!!

Also, under no circumstances will I ever do a Michigan Wolverines, Pittsburgh Steelers, or Baltimore Ravens case. EVER! I'd rather see someone throw their perfectly good console into a river.

I need a console. It's for my sister. Her favorite colors are blue and yellow, and her name is Matilda, so I'm thinking a big yellow M on a blue background. She's really into corn (Midwest living, here) so maybe the yellow could be more maize?

I have an older elite 120 gb hdd, I love UNC basketball and the color blue, my name on it (Joey) and my favorite number 11. I have a brand new xbox so no worries on the time it takes to do, if we can figure out a design I will pay you what you say its worth. Let me know.

@BlackHole - I'll shop together a few designs or elements and we can get an idea of what you like and don't like and go from there.
