If you want something a little more innovative in the tourney arena, I say set up a tourney triathlon.
A regular triathlon involves running, swimming, and cycling, but those are all endurance. So I would say for one triathlon you could do three different shooters, such as Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears of War. Depending on the style of the triathlon, you might pick shooters that all allow free-for-all matches, or you could set up teams and keep track of individual stats.
Each person competes in each event, and that person's rank in each event is carried over and added to their rank in the next event. The person with the highest overall rank wins the triathlon. So a person who comes in 1st in the first two events but 4th in the last event could tie someone who gets 2nd in each event (1 + 1 + 4 = 6 and 2 + 2 + 2 = 6).
More detail and rules would need to be outlined, but it's just an idea that could get something started.

I kinda typed that up in a hurry, so I may have been thinking of the lowest number being the highest rank. So 1st in all three would get you a 3, which would be the best rank across all three. 8th in all three would be a 24, which would be the worst (obviously). I hope that makes sense. Kinda like golf. Lowest number wins.
But I suppose a system of assigning higher points to better rankings would be more conventional and standard (something I wasn't thinking about as I quickly wrote that first part). But either way should work.
