Spike TV unveiled the nominees for their 6th annual Video Game Awards. The show will air live on December 16th at 9 p.m. EST and will feature music by 50 cent and unseen footage from upcoming releases. Looking over the list, the Game of the Year category will be hotly contested between GTA IV, Metal Gear Solid 4, Gears 2, LittleBigPlanet and Fallout3. My guess is the one without the number in the title (non-sequel) will probably take this honor. Check out the nominees and all the details after the jump:

I'm hoping for GoW2, Fallout 3, or GTA IV. To win game of the year. Bethesada for studio of the year, and I don't care about music games.

Or at the very least hold the awards in December so "the people" have more time with the newer games.

There is just something about the VGA awards that doesn't work for me, and I think it's all that DAMN heavy metal music that they insist on playing instead of actually talking about video games. Enough people, just talk about video games and the awards will come, not blasting music the whole show.
