Well the results are in everybody! Thanks to all who voted, I got tons of votes! After counting 'em all up, here's the official winners to the Second Annual Xbox America Game of the Year Awards!:

Disappointment of the Year Award:

Halo 3: ODST!

Best Arcade Game:

Shadow Complex!

Best Rhythm Game:

The Beatles: Rock Band!

Best Open World of Role-Playing Game:

Dragon Age: Origins!

Best Shooter:

Modern Warfare 2!

Best Multiplayer:

Modern Warfare 2!

Best Single Player:

Assassin's Creed 2!

and finally...

The Game of the Year Award goes to...

Assassin's Creed 2!

It looks like we have a very diverse set of gamers here at XBA, as all the categories were very close, with the winner usually having no more than 1 or 2 more votes than the runner up (except Shooter and MP, where MW2 flattened the competition

)

if only bioshock 2 had come out last year!

surprised MW2 got best MP. seriously.
i didn't play much of it, but i've heard about all the glitchers and hackers.

that still dont change the fact it can be a fun/enjoyable experience lol just some minor setbacks...i personally havent experience too many glitchers/hackers lately...

Yeah I actually disagreed with Disappointment of the Year and Arcade, and GOTY, but still a good turnout.

@Noah - At least Bioshock will be able to sweep the boards next year

that's true.
you really have to get a game within the first couple weeks to understand how it was meant to be played in my opinion. same goes for bioshock 2 i guess. during the first week it was all run and gun. now you got the campers getting their feet wet.

this goes for both games. and probably all games with MP lol.
i've said it before and i'll say it again: i don't have a problem with campers, because it's legit. it's a strategy. when EVERYONE does it, however, i don't enjoy the game. that's not how i roll.

@ aidan: i hope you're right, but the freezing might hurt the MP ratings.

the SP will shine though. i have faith in that.

I'm a bit surprised that Ass Creed 2 won GOTY, but I did enjoy it a great deal, they did an excellent job on it.

I'm also pleasantly surprised Dragon Age won best open world/RPG but I guess it didn't have much competition, unles Fallout 3 GOTY edition was an option? I can't even remember.

Thanks for doing this Aidan, was fun!

Oh yeah, I'm also surprised ODST was Disappointment of the Year. I've never been a Halo nut but I thought ODST was very fun played co-op with friends, and it seemed like a great deal that all the then-current Halo 3 multiplayer stuff was on the second disc. But whatever, I guess all the Halo nutters out there are whiny bistachios.

Tony Hawk Ride was the big disappointment for me, I was really hoping it would end up being a way awesomer version of that old arcade game with the board you stood on, and that it would save the TH franchise. Looks like it did the exact opposite instead.

I can say that I pretty much don't agree with anything on that list. Also funny that none of the games that came out in the first part of the year get any votes. Tiss sad that XbA has turned into a site full of Fanboy's and clones!!! Oh well I guess i'm just gettig old....now where are those little blue pills I love so much.....

I disagree with the disappointment of the year, although I'm pretty sure that Im the only one that listed MW2 as the disappointment. I'm happy MW2 didn't win GOTY as it really didn't deserve it, Im also happy that one of the Rock Band games won over Guitar Hero.
